Our Team
After receiving a BS from Providence College in 1978, Michael began his career in the insurance industry as a management consultant for Ernst & Young. In 1980, Michael left Ernst & Young to become Vice President of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), where he developed the largest block of small business groups under 200 lives during that period of time.
From 1990 to 1994, Michael served as Vice President for Associated Plan Administrators (APA), a third party administrator located in Hamden, CT. Michael oversaw all aspects of the organization, including sales and marketing, claims processing operations, human resources, client services and information technology. Through this experience, Michael obtained a broad understanding of third party administration operations, a valuable asset in today’s evolving TPA market.
Michael joined HealthChoice of Connecticut in 1994 as its Vice President of Sales & Marketing. From 1994 to 1996, Michael was responsible for exponential growth in HealthChoice’s TPA and PPO membership. When HealthChoice decided to enter the HMO arena, Michael resigned his position to start Northeast Healthcare Alliance, LLC (NEHCA), which he built into a highly successful PPO organization covering over 300,000 lives in CT. Michael subsequently sold the company in 2004 to MultiPlan, Inc.
Michael was first introduced to NexClaim in 1996 when he began marketing their services to NEHCA’s client base. Many of those first clients are still with NexClaim today. When NexClaim’s board expressed an interest in selling the company, Michael immediately seized upon the opportunity in 2003 to purchase the organization that has proven so successful for his clients.
Mark has more than 25 years of senior financial and consulting experience. Prior to NexClaim, he was a CFO with the firm of Hurley, Vickers & Associates (HVA). HVA provided outsourcing CFO and accounting services to early stage companies. Prior to this role, Mark was VP of Finance and Operations for Avid Sports, Inc., which he successfully sold in June 2000. Mark has also held senior management positions at Nova Biomedical, Layered Software and Apollo Computer.

Mark earned an MBA from Babson College and a BBA in accounting from the University of MA, Amherst.
